Classification and application of industrial servers
Industrial servers with a high-speed CPU processor are used a lot in specialized applications. However, for complex applications that need specialized industrial servers to run multitasking – many applications, software, and support tools at the same time, building a server running 2 CPUs is the optimal solution.
I. Classification of industrial servers:
On the market today, there are two lines of industrial servers
1. 1 CPU server series:
A 1-CPU server is a server with a motherboard that can only install 1 CPU (1 Socket). With a 1 Socket motherboard, users will be able to run 1 physical CPU of Intel’s latest Sandy/Ivy/Hashwell series up to 8 Core/CPU.
2. 2 CPU (dual processor) server series:
A 2-CPU server is a server with a motherboard capable of expanding to 2 CPUs running in parallel. However, it is still possible to run 1 CPU for this server. With a 2 Socket motherboard, the number of Cores will be accumulated between the 2 physical CPUs and depending on the CPU the user uses, there will be a different number of Cores.
II. Dual processor 2 CPU server application
– Efficient multi-tasking.
– Render and render quickly on graphics software.
– Open multiple application and software windows at the same time easily and smoothly.
– Connects multiple computers into one block, serving multiple servers via the network.
– The price is much cheaper than PC computers equipped with huge components for multitasking.
